2025-26 Upper Deck SP Hockey: What to Expect
2025-26 Upper Deck SP Hockey is an entry-level product, designed for casual collectors not looking to spend hundreds of dollars. The only box type available is the Blaster box, which costs $29.99 on the Upper Deck website.
In a 2025-26 Upper Deck SP Hockey blaster box, you’ll get eight packs, each containing five cards. Each box should contain:
- Base Card Blue Parallels x 4
- Rookie Authentics Blue Parallels x 4
- Authentic Profiles Blue Parallel x 1
- Numbered Insert x 1
What Cards Are in 2025-26 Upper Deck SP Hockey?
This budget collection doesn’t offer the largest range of cards, as you’d expect. However, it still includes numbered parallels, autograph cards, and relic cards, as well as cards featuring some of the game’s biggest players and rookies. All cards have a sharp yet simple design, with the chase cards being a great addition to any hockey card collection.
2025-26 Upper Deck SP Hockey Base Cards

Base cards are split into two: regular base cards, which feature established stars, and Rookie Authentics, which, as the name suggests, are rookie cards. When both are combined, there are 140 base cards to collect, all with a range of parallels.
- Base Cards: These feature a full-length image of the player. Behind the player, you’ll see a colored section, which is generally color-matched to the team’s primary kit color. This color extends all the way to the left of the card, where the player’s team is written vertically. The player’s name and position are at the bottom of the card, inside a white section. The bottom of the card changes color depending on the parallel.
- Rookie Authentics: These rookie-only cards are similar to the regular base cards, but the team name is on the opposite side, with the Rookie Authentics logo running vertically on the left. Also, the background is slightly different, featuring a colored circle and a concentric circular design next to it.
2025-26 Upper Deck SP Hockey Insert Cards
There’s not a giant selection of base cards. In fact, there’s just one: Authentic Profiles. Some will be disappointed by the lack of inserts, but it’s not surprising, considering this is a budget-friendly set of hockey cards.
- Authentic Profiles: These cards show a full-length image of the player, set against an in-game background. The border of the card is white, with colored lines running down either side. On the left is the player’s position, and on the right is the player’s team. At the bottom, you’ll find the card’s name, and under that is the player’s name. The bottom part of the card changes color depending on the parallel.
2025-26 Upper Deck SP Hockey Autograph Cards

There are three types of autograph cards in the 2025-26 Upper Deck SP Hockey checklist, with signatures from some of the biggest names in the game.
- Rookie Authentics Signatures: These are the same as the Rookie Authentics base cards, but have a signature near the middle of the card.
- Authentic Signature: These landscape cards are the only autograph cards not based on another card in the set. The player is on the left, while the signature is on the right. The signature is set in a white box, with the player’s team above and name below. There’s a gray background behind the box, with a color-matched background behind that. The card’s name is printed in large type at the top.
- Authentic Profiles Signatures: These are the same as the Authentic Profiles insert cards, but with a signature near the middle of the card.
2025-26 Upper Deck SP Hockey Relic Cards
There are two relic cards in 2025-26 Upper Deck SP Hockey, but both are based on other cards in the collection. Both also only feature small patches, which are at least game-worn.
- Rookie Authentics Jerseys: These are the same as the Rookie Authentics cards, except they have a small game-worn patch near the center of the card.
- Authentic Profile Jerseys: These are the same as the Authentic Profile cards, except they have a game-worn patch near the center of the card.

Should You Buy 2025-26 Upper Deck SP Hockey?
Buying 2025-26 Upper Deck SP Hockey is a smart, budget-friendly move if you want a clean, manageable set with consistent rookie upside. It avoids triple-digit box prices while delivering a parallel in every pack. It is an ideal, low-stress project for casual fans and set builders looking to collect the latest freshman class in their official NHL gear.
However, it is not designed for high-rollers or collectors chasing premium hits. As a compact, retail-focused release, finding rare autographs or jersey relics requires beating incredibly steep odds. If your main goal is pulling high-end memorabilia or maximizing immediate resale value, the standard 2025-26 Upper Deck SP Hockey checklist will feel too limited compared to flagship hobby products like SP Authentic.
Ultimately, it comes down to your goals. If you want an affordable way to chase top superstars without a high-stakes financial gamble, this product hits the sweet spot. Use the 2025-26 Upper Deck SP Hockey checklist as a fun blueprint to track your collection over the season rather than treating it like a lottery ticket.
2025-26 Upper Deck SP Hockey FAQs
Got questions about the 2025-26 Upper Deck SP Hockey checklist or any other aspect of the product? Then check out the FAQs below:
Each standard retail blaster box contains 8 packs with 5 cards per pack, totaling 40 cards. A typical box delivers 4 Base Card Blue Parallels, 4 Rookie Authentics Blue Parallels, 1 Authentic Profiles Blue Parallel, and 1 numbered insert.
The base set contains 140 total cards, split into 100 veterans and 40 short-printed SP Rookie Authentics cards. These rookie cards feature the premier freshmen of the season and are numbered to 1,749, with other numbered and non-numbered parallels also available.
The most sought-after chase elements on the 2025-26 Upper Deck SP Hockey checklist include SP Rookie Authentics Signatures (1:480 packs), Authentic Signatures (1:1,600 packs), Authentic Profiles Signatures (1:2,880 packs), and rare Black 1-of-1 parallels.
Yes, while initially dropping in physical retail stores and hobby shops, this product is also scheduled for Upper Deck’s digital e-Pack platform, allowing collectors to buy, open, and trade cards online.
This standard SP release is a smaller, budget-friendly retail product consisting of 5-card packs. Conversely, SP Authentic (SPA) is a premium, higher-end hobby box containing 9 cards per pack, featuring the celebrated, hard-signed Future Watch Autographs as its main attraction.
Blaster boxes are priced at $29.99 on the official Upper Deck website. Because this set is designed as an entry-level, retail-first option, it remains one of the most budget-friendly products on the annual NHL calendar compared to premium hobby boxes that frequently exceed $200.
